Growing up without a father and with a
mother who battled deep
trauma and
mental illness caused me to guard my
heart fiercely
and become a survivor.
I was in and out of foster homes as
a child
and eventually worked 2 jobs
to live on my own at the age of 16.
Over the next decade, I explored the
deep layers of my inner
healing through
every avenue that called me and
birthed Rising
Woman into the world.
I live and work on the unceded traditional territory of the unceded Coast Salish peoples with my family. I am not an influencer, a spiritual guru, or an expert. I’m a guide and I take great care in this work I am so privileged to do.
My internationally best selling book, Becoming the One was published in 2022.
I was born by emergency c-section
after my Moms
placenta ruptured and
we both had minutes to live.
For the first years of my life, we were
on the run
from my Father whom I’ve
never met.
When I was 3 years old, my mom
dropped me off
at a foster home and
disappeared for months. This
was the
beginning of my abandonment wound.
Age 12 I began heavily drinking and
using substances,
and I also began
writing poetry at this time.
Age 14 I battled with addiction to hard
drugs and
for a time was living on
friends couches.
Age 16 I began working 2 jobs and
moved into
my own apartment.
Age 19 Entered an abusive relationship
that would
catapult me into my first
spiritual awakening.
Age 22 I began exploring my
spirituality and met
a person who I
would later marry.
Age 25 The vision for Rising Woman was
sparked,
but I knew I had more to learn
before bringing
the vision to reality.
I was married, divorced and at rock
bottom. I lost
my business, my money,
and even my beloved
Cat disappeared.
I began diving deep into my inner-work.
Shadow
work, inner-child work, plant-
medicine ceremonies
and every form
of therapy I could get my hands on.
Met my husband Ben, host of the
EvolvingMan
Podcast, we began our
relationship soon after
and attended
my first 3 nights of Ayahuasca
ceremonies together.
I began writing through Rising Woman
and built
the very first website!
Ben proposed to me at Sombrio Beach
on
a camping trip.
Ben and I got married in a unique
ceremony
filled with spiritual ritual.
We got Bodhi, our sweet and
snuggly little Malshi.
My audience grew to over 3 million
readers
on Rising Woman.
Ben and I moved to Salt Spring Island
on 10
acres of land and forest.
Published my first book Becoming
the One.
